The sensors have a large diameter metal protection sheath over most of the sensor which is then swaged to a reduced diameter sensing tip of low thermal mass which allows a fast response to temperature changes.
The process of swaging reduces the large diameter sheath by hammering with a pair of precision rotary dies at over 500 blows per minute until the desired final, reduced diameter is achieved. The heat produced during the swaging procedure enhances the grain structure and tensile strength of the sensor over the swaged region.
Delivery on custom built is typically 4/5 days, for more information on swaged tip thermocouples; please contact the application specialists at TC Ltd.
