Budget Bayonet Thermocouples

Suitable for plastics machinery and general purpose applications, these assemblies are supplied with a 200mm spring which an industry standard one slot adjustable bayonet cap fitting is screwed onto for fine positioning on site. The sensing tip is incorporated within a 18mm long x 4.7, 6.0 or 8.0mm diameter tube which the stainless steel braided leads are sealed into.

Leaf Thermocouples

This sensor has a fast response thermocouple mounted on a stainless steel shim which allows it to be welded, soldered or placed under banding on a variety of applications including nozzle or band heaters. It is supplied with 2 metre leads with either plain tails or miniature plug termination.

Bayonet Thermocouple with an Adjustable Cap Fitting

Suitable for plastics machinery and general purpose applications these assemblies are supplied in several different lengths with an industry standard one slot adjustable bayonet cap fitting. The fitting can be fine tuned for positioning on site and is suitable where several of your applications require individual positioning of the thermocouple. The sensor is 4.5mm dia mineral insulated and can therefore be bent after installation for further exact positioning.

Plastic Melt Thermocouple

These robust sensors have been designed to withstand the high pressures that are found within the nozzles of plastics extruders and injection moulding machines where they are used in order to measure the temperature of the molten medium. Available as standard in either 76mm or 152mm bolt lengths with either a 5mm long or flush sensing tip length, they have an insulated junction and are terminated in a standard round pin thermocouple plug.

Nozzle Thermocouple

Ideal for a variety of uses including extruder nozzles, motor and pipe temperatures. They are designed to screw directly into the workpiece. A nipple allows the nozzle to rotate, so the wires do not twist when threading in and tightening the nozzle. They are available in several bolt sizes and are made from stainless steel. Suitable up to 250ºC.

Standard Bearing Thermocouple

Spring Bearing Thermocouple 'Top Hat Style'

These bearing sensors are also designed for use in bearing shoes. The top hat shape allows spring loading by use of a spring and retaining ring clip. The sensor tip is inserted into the milled hole, then the retaining ring clip is pushed down to compress the spring and retain the sensor. Using these sensors will give reliable indication as to the bearing condition. This may provide an early warning of oil film breakdown and allow the machine to shutdown and avoid unnecessary damage.

Self Adhesive Patch Thermocouple

Suitable for attaching to flat or curved surfaces, these Self Adhesive Patch Thermocouples are rated for operation between -50ºC and +250ºC. They are made from Teflon® insulated thermocouple cable which is attached to a high temperature rated patch of PTFE impregnated adhesive fibreglass tape.

Cement On Polyimide Thin Film Thermocouple - Standard Grade

These versatile, low cost thermocouples can be used for a wide variety of surface temperature measurements including environmental testing, temperature surveys of electrical components, oven wall temperatures, etc. The foil sensor incorporates a thermocouple sensor which is rolled flat before being embedded between two paper thin glass reinforced high temperature polyimide laminates. These both support and electrically insulate the thermocouple as well as providing a flat surface for cementing or resining the sensor to. They feature rugged 0.2mm dia fibreglass leads 2 metres long and are available in thermocouple types K, T, J and N. They are designed for easy installation either by using the adhesive weld compound which we offer or alternatively by using an epoxy resin. Users must ensure the resin they use satisfies the operating temperature they intend working within.

Cement On Polyimide Thin Film Thermocouple - Aerostructure Grade

These cement on foil thermocouples give exceptional performance for exceptional applications. Although used widely in the aerospace industry for dynamic testing of composite structures, they can be used on any application where a lightweight, miniature, durable, flexible and rugged sensor is required. This unique 0.13mm thick sensor in the form of a 12mm x 20mm film, provides millisecond responses and high dielectric strengths combined with very low thermal mass and physical profile. They feature rugged 0.25mm dia Kapton leads 2 metres long and are available in thermocouple types K, T, J and N. They are designed for easy installation either by using the adhesive weld compound which we offer or alternatively by using an epoxy resin.

Silicone Rubber Patch Thermocouple

This sensor incorporates a silicon rubber patch with a thermocouple junction embedded within, attached to 2 metre long Teflon® leads. The patch is self adhesive and when placed in position enables good response times from the flush mounted thermocouple junction.

Moving Surface Thermocouple

For temperatures up to 250ºC and rotating and linear speeds up to 275 metres per minute, these Moving Surface Thermocouples are suitable for use on calendar rolls, motor shafts and flat sheets of metal, plastic and textile surfaces with low abrasion resistance. These thermocouples incorporate a spring loaded detection head. They are supplied complete with a built in thermocouple socket, matching plug and mounting bar. Industrial Vacuum Furnace Thermocouple

These thermocouple sensors are used in industrial vacuum furnaces up to at least 1 x 10-6 mbar where temperatures up to 1600°C are experienced, although some users have been satisfied with their performance at 5 x 10-6 mbar. Available in thermocouple types K and N with an impervious aluminous porcelain sheath or thermocouple types R and S with an impervious recrystallised alumina sheath, they have a stainless steel support tube attached to a weatherproof connection head.

These sensors are suitable for general use at high temperatures. Offered in Aluminous Porcelain for Type K and J thermocouples or Recrystallised Alumina for type R and S thermocouples. They can be cut down with insulators taken off when an exact length is required.

The thermocouples shown below are normally ex stock although other dimensions are available on request and can be made up within a few days.
